RICHMOND, VA – Venture Richmond has hired Anedra Bourne as its Deputy Executive Director effective November 1, 2017.
Bourne currently is the tourism coordinator for the city of Richmond and prior to that was the program manager for The Future of Richmond’s Past collaborative. Other positions include director of marketing and public relations for the American Civil War Center, and public relations manager at Virginia Tourism Corporation. In her position with Venture Richmond she will report to Executive Director Lisa Sims.
Sims said, “Over the last few years Anedra has led or been involved in some of our community’s most collaborative ventures – she managed more than 20 community partners during The Future of Richmond’s Past commemoration, served as the city’s representative on the Richmond 2015 board and helped to plan the opening ceremony, she served a key role in the launch of the Richmond Liberty Trail, and she serves as staff liaison for the Slave Trail Commission. Her hard work, strong mind, and genuine love of community have made her a crucial member of many groups who are working to better our city. We are thrilled that she’s bringing her passion and skills to Venture Richmond as we work toward strengthening the organization by implementing our first strategic plan in a decade.”

"I could not be more excited about the opportunity to work with the Venture Richmond Board and team,” Bourne said, “and to be a part of the continued evolution of our city in this new capacity."
