Founded on a bed of soul, sex and rock, Washington’s U.S. Royalty invokes the unvarnished glory of the White Stripes and the Killers with a dash of Fleet Foxes’ jagged folk. While its new album, “Mirrors,” may not blaze any new trails, it does simmer and burn with enough intensity to overcome the group’s lack of uniqueness. Coming to the Camel on Sunday, Sept. 8, the band plays with Richmond dream catchers Glass Twin. Formerly known as Marionette, the new incarnation keeps its brand of cinematic psychedelia intact. Be sure to get there early to see Richmond newcomers the Weather, whose new single, “So Long,” sticks in your head long after your first listen. Doors open at 7 p.m., music at 8. Admission is $8 in advance and $10 the day of. thecamel.org.
