Rarely do you to see two divergent ethnic hybrids on the same bill, and this once-in-a-blue-moon pairing of Richmond’s finest cross-cultural pollinations isn’t to be missed. Featuring the stunning vocal range of lead vocalist Antonia Vassar, the Richmanian Ramblers’ rapturous accordion, fiddle and clarinet take on Romanian drinking music is true to the stoic spirit of the country’s Byzantine ceremonial musical origins. Miramar channels culture much the same way. The group’s mix of Puerto Rican, Greek, Portuguese and Latin American romantic ballad traditions wears its heart on its sleeve with vocalists Rei Alvarez and Laura Ann Singh conveying a beauty that’s stunning to behold. I kid you not. The two singing together is nothing short of amazing. The Richmanian Ramblers and Miramar play Monday, Jan. 20, at the Camel. Doors open at 8 p.m. Admission is $5. thecamel.org.
