The People's Library is an ongoing collaborative project featuring a library designed, built and written by community members. During workshops, participants transformed discarded books into hundreds of blank books. The pages from the old books were recycled into new and the new paper was then bound, using the old covers, to create new blank books. Project participants learned how to make paper, bind books, build bookshelves and design a system for cataloging. The end result is hundreds of re-purposed books that act as blank canvases for the production and exchange of local histories.
