Mutant Activities

Go behind the scenes of the movie "X-Men" on Tuesday, July 11, at 8 p.m. on FOX-TV and discover the answers to the questions that all true fan-atics will be asking.

You'll learn the difference between "good" and "bad" mutants and their struggle in a world that rejects and scapegoats them. And you'll learn about the transformation of human actors to mutant characters using special-effects makeup. And about how the movie's stunts and special effects were created.

"X-Men" is based on the Marvel Comics series about a team of genetically mutated beings shunned by humans. In the film, the mutants have come under the watchful eye of Sen. Robert Kelly (Bruce Davison), who wants to identify and eventually destroy them with his Mutant Watch Campaign. The film also stars Patrick Stewart, Halle Berry, Hugh Jackman, Anna Paquin and Sir Ian McKellen.

The Fox special also presents an interview with the film's director, Bryan Singer.

Taking Sen. Kelly's campaign as its theme, the Fox program's premise is a hearing by the Senate Subcommittee on Mutant
