With kids out of school for the holidays, parents have to figure out how to entertain their precious spawn until life returns to normal. The Barefoot Puppet Theatre is here to help. Founded in 1995 by Heidi Rugg, the Richmond performance group, with guest artist Bonnie Duncan, is producing family friendly shows at the Richmond Triangle Players during the winter break. The puppet shows feature performances of “Ooey Gooey” (Friday, Dec. 26, 11 a.m. and 2 p.m.), “Little Red and the Gingerbread Man” (Saturday, Dec. 27, 11 a.m. and 2 p.m.), “The Little ‘Bread’ Hen” (Sunday, Dec. 28, 1 and 3:30 p.m.), “Galapagos George” (Monday, Dec. 29, 11 a.m. and 2 p.m.) and “Dreamtime: Tales from Down Under” (Tuesday, Dec. 30, 11 a.m., 2 p.m. and a pajama performance at 7 p.m.). The all-ages fun continues next weekend, but for your immediate what-am-I-going-to-do-with-these-kids needs, the Barefoot Puppet Theatre has you covered. Tickets are $10.
