The Imagination of King Seppy the African is a culmination of decades of work by Grenadian artist Thaddeus LaCrette. Using beads to create intricate decoration and telling the story of the African slave trade, LaCrette explores themes of life, history, creativity and religion. The two main characters represent his parents, depicted here as members of the Masai tribe in East Africa.
