When: Sat., June 8, 10 a.m.-4 p.m. 2019
Did you ever want to learn about what happens to wool once the sheep are sheared? Come to Patrick Henry's Scotchtown for our textile day. Meet our four sheep and talk with Debbie, our sheep lady, about the shearing process. Discuss natural dyes with knowledgable interpreters and talk with Hanover master gardeners about what herbs and plants were used in the colonial period. Watch as expert spinners take you through the steps needed to create cloth in the 18th century. Try your own hand at carding, spinning and felting wool, or just bring your knitting needles and knit.
