Fifteen years is a long time to wait for your record to come out. Not even the notoriously slow corporate rockers Boston took that long to release their second album. Thankfully, Teargas Rock isn’t Boston. The trio of punk-rock veterans — featuring guitarist Adam Nathanson, bassist Marty Key and drummer Randy Davis — wasn’t too busy vacationing in the South of France to release their debut album. They simply didn’t have the time, will or inclination to release the 2000 recording till now. And unlike Boston’s second album, the group’s self-titled debut, on Richmond label Little Black Clouds, is well worth the wait. It’s a vintage American hardcore assimilation of blitzkrieg bop with aggressive sing-a-longs, hooks and chutzpah. Teargas Riot celebrates the release Friday, Aug. 29, at Black Iris with Washington’s Alarms and Controls and locals Positive No. Doors open at 7 p.m. Admission is $5. blackirisstudio.com.
