I wish I could see Richmond duo Suppression play at some suburban enclave. With such family-unfriendly song titles as “Well Hung Toddler,” “Reach Out and Fuck Someone” and “Dickless in Heaven,” the ensuing stampede their performance would cause would renew my abiding faith in the power of music to move people. Doubtful this oil-and-water mixture will ever happen, but a man can dream. On Friday, Suppression (with its Ruins and Painkiller-styled aggressions) headline a bill of bad intentions that includes Chicago grind thrashers Sick/Tired, fellow windy city malcontents Sea of Shit and the black metal Richmond sludge of Unscared at Strange Matter, 929 W. Grace St. Doors for the all-ages show open at 5 p.m. Admission is $7. strangematterrva.com.
