More to the StoryWhether you've been picking up Style since 1982, when we were a monthly, or for the first time this week, thank you for reading us.
When we first started publishing, Ronald Reagan was president, Chuck Robb was governor, and Henry Marsh had just handed the mayor's gavel to Roy West. The Richmond News Leader was still around. And certainly no one had heard of blogs.
This year, Style marks its 25th anniversary, and we've chosen to celebrate the occasion beginning with this issue. What better way? The arts have always been a core component of our editorial coverage, and in the last quarter-century we've seen so many changes in the Richmond landscape. We've selected some of the most pivotal moments in Richmond arts, and we hope you'll enjoy looking back with us.
Throughout the year, we'll be offering a variety of special reports and features inspired by our 25th anniversary and the people, places and events we've covered during those years. We'll also be exploring what lies ahead for Richmond.
As we do every week, we'll strive to reveal the Richmond area's true identity through unflinching journalism. We hope to help you know Richmond through its people, make sense of the news and open windows on provocative ideas.
Keep reading, and welcome to our 25th anniversary.
