Mother India opening at Gallery5 on Friday, Sept. 2

A group of artists help convey the rich and colorful history of Indian art and artists, from paintings and ceramics to film, photos and projections. The vibrant month-long show kicks off at Gallery5 during the First Friday art walk in historic Jackson Ward. 5 to 11 p.m. gallery5arts.org

Art of Noise at Brown’s Island on Sunday, Sept. 4

Billed as “the party for music lovers.” One of the city’s best old school dance parties with hip-hop deejays rocking your faves. Gates open at 4 p.m. and the show starts at 6 p.m. Entrance to Brown’s Island is through the 5th Street entrance only. Early bird tickets sold out. Tickets now $40-$50. Tickets are available here.

Michelangelo’s Sistine Chapel: The Exhibition at Stony Point Fashion Park, starts Friday, Sept. 2

Can’t make it to Italy? Then get thee to the mall. Check out a life-sized reproduction of Michelangelo’s masterpiece, fresco by fresco, located next to Pandora jewelry. The visit takes around 60 to 90 minutes. Tickets are $15.30 for children and $22.40 for adults. All ages. Visit here for more information.
