During a bus ride last week to draw attention to transit changes, Mayor Levar Stoney chats with rider Shawntae Crew, who holds her 10-month-old, Roger.
Stoney joined advisers Jon Baliles and the Rev. Ben Campbell, and Councilman Parker Agelasto, on bus route 68 to Southside Plaza, where the last of eight public meetings on the Richmond Transit Network Plan was being held.
On another bus, new City Council members Kim Gray, Andreas Addison, Kristen Larson and Michael Jones rode the northbound route 60 with representatives from GRTC Transit System for a better understanding of changes coming to the routes.
Public comments on the draft network plan are open until Feb. 14 at richmondtransitnetwork.com. GRTC hopes implementation will coincide roughly with the completion of the rapid transit project between Rocketts Landing and Willow Lawn, the Pulse, which is scheduled for completion in October.
