You may not dance to a painting, but music and art are inexplicably linked. They’re the peanut butter and jelly of creative expressions, giving each a deeper context for their various inspirations that they couldn’t achieve alone. Rhythm and Dance, the exhibit opening Friday, Oct. 4, at Art6 Gallery, renders the effects of the melodic in mixed media creations that capture the fluidity of sound and its ability to generate physical movement. To mirror the activity captured on the walls, opening night will feature performances by the Chinese Folk Dance Club and Anja Dance Tribal, showing the cause and effect of music on the body in real time. The First Friday opening takes place from 6-10 p.m. Admission is free. art6gallery.org.
