Sadly, the Nile Café will close its doors July 13 after many years of serving Ethiopian food and hosting shows on Laurel Street. But as the old saying goes, one door doesn’t close without another opening. The new door opening for the Teklemariam brothers is being finalized at press time, but they will begin serving their culinary creations at a new location sometime later this summer. Till then, they’ll keep serving the food and music as they’re doing Saturday, June 21, when dinner service is followed by Reggae Soul Shakedown — a night of Jamaican roots rock reggae with heavy discipline selectors Black Starliner Sound, DJ-AV and DJ Sephtekk. The chanting-down of Babylon begins at 10:30 p.m. Free. nilerichmond.com.
