Reckless Kelly at Toad's Place

If Clint Eastwood's “Man With No Name” had a preferred playlist on his iPod, Reckless Kelly's “Bulletproof” would be the second track after Ennio Morricone's iconic score. The outlaw five-piece is known for its boundless country-rock songs that bring flavors of old western spirit and patriotic licks to the stage. But buckles and boots aside, Reckless Kelly rolls out the American standard of storytelling through songs that speak of politics, countryside roaming and love lost. The Austin family band started a program called Reckless Kelly Military Care Packages that ships out fan-donated care packages to American troops in Iraq. The band will collect letters, postcards, clothing, toiletries and other items at the merchandise table when it plays Toad's Place on Wednesday, Feb. 18, at 8 p.m. It will also, of course, play some Eastwood-friendly tunes. $12. 648-TOAD.
