Ramen Madness

D.C. chef Erik Bruner-Yang takes over Rappahannock. All you have to do is get in line.

by

Surprise! Former Richmonder Erik Bruner-Yang of D.C.'s much-lauded Toki Underground is sliding into Richmond on Monday Nov. 24 to take over Rappahannock. He's also bringing along seasoned mixologist Todd Thrasher from Bar PX in Alexandria to put the right kinds of ice cubes in the right kinds of cocktails in what's shaping up to be at least a six-course ramen feast.

It's part of the Maketto Holiday Tour -- a series of pop-ups before Maketto, Bruner-Yang's new D.C. restaurant, opens early next year. Maketto is described as a marketplace -- Bruner-Yang plans to open a café along with the restaurant and is partnering with DURKL, a hip urban-stoner-skater menswear brand that will have an Asian-style street stall there. DURKL will also set up at the rear of Rappahannock on Monday night for all of your snap-back hat needs.

No ticket is necessary. This isn't a wine dinner or a beer-pairing event. Bruner-Yang will be cranking out the ramen from 5 to 10 p.m., first come, first served.
