"Rachida" by Yamina Bachir-Chouikh

Filmmaker Yamina Bachir-Chouikh chronicles the life of Rachida, a young teacher caught in the middle of random acts of violence and terrorism in Modern Algeria and tells the stories of courage and hope amid social chaos and persecution. The film, presented at the Cannes Film Festival in 2002, features Ibtissem Djouadi, Bahia Rachedi, Rachida Messaouden, Zaki Boulenafed, and Amel Chouikh.
