Style announced that a local weekly newspaper had ceased publication. The County Line, which launched the previous year to serve Henrico County, shut down with a Farewell Edition on Nov. 20. Paul Scott Abbott, the weekly's publisher — and a former reporter for the Richmond News Leader — told Style that running a weekly paper was a struggle, "especially when you run mean, nasty stories about people." Abbott mentioned specifically that two men "didn't like it one bit when I accused them of being involved in prostitution ring out there."

Abbott vowed to continue to speak truth to power with another paper, the New County Line. "I'm sorry this first edition ... is so wimpy," Abbott said, explaining that he had been harassed, physically attacked and targeted by Henrico County officials who were trying to get him on technicalities and fine points of law.
