The body of a woman who may have committed suicide by jumping off the Powhite Parkway Bridge in late January was found by a person fishing in the waters of the James River in Charles City County Saturday, April 3.

Jill Luberta Edmonds was deemed missing by city police on Jan. 27. Her sedan had been found parked beside the northbound lanes of the Powhite Parkway Bridge on Jan. 25, and an initial search that day of the surrounding river and shoreline by state and city police, along with city fire officials, was unsuccessful.

According to an email advisory distributed by the Richmond Police Department April 7, city police and the medical examiner's office do not suspect foul play in the case of Edmonds' death.
