Poe’s Haunted Homecoming at Shockoe Hill Cemetery

Thursday, Sept. 22

Richmond’s most famous son, Edgar Allan Poe, takes visitors on a spooky cemetery walk for Poe’s Haunted Homecoming, a nighttime tour and performance put on by Haunts of Richmond and the Edgar Allan Poe Museum. The tour is a journey through the writer’s life guided by Poe and his wife, Virginia, as they stroll through his old haunts and interact with the spirits of those they knew while living in Richmond. Visitors will learn how Poe’s years here shaped his literary legacy, and experience the passion and despair of pivotal moments from his life. Poe’s Haunted Homecoming takes place in Shockoe Hill Cemetery on North Second Street, on Thursday, Sept. 22, at 8 p.m., and Sept 23-24 at 6:30 p.m. and 8 p.m. $15-$18. 648-5523.
