As Mayor Stoney gets ready to present Howard Adams with a certificate honoring his 60 years in business on Broad Street, Adams said to the mayor, "You've done a lot right, but not the Pulse." Adams was referring to the construction of a new bus line that made life difficult for businesses on Broad Street. The mayor took the comment in stride as did the police officers from nearby Virginia Commonwealth University.
