One moment after stepping into Off the Hookah and seeing go-go dancers above the bar to your right, belly dancers to your left and the bartender dead ahead juggling six bottles, you realize: Toto, we’re not in Kansas anymore. With its December grand opening, Off the Hookah made a big statement in the canalside building that’s also home to the Hat Factory. Its flair for over-the-top showmanship and a lavish Egyptian inspired décor makes it the kind of Miami-strip sight never seen in Richmond.
