If you are not a fan of National Association for Stock Car Auto Racing
(NASCAR), perhaps this will get your engine going? On Thursday, March 30th, fans and almost fans can hit the Finish Line Party or parties as the case may be.
Three rooftops in Richmond: The Hoffheimer Building HofGarden Rooftop, Quirk Hotel Rooftop and the new New York Deli Rooftop will be hosting simultaneous soirees to usher in the Toyota Owners 400 Weekend and the 75th anniversary of NASCAR.
The events are free to attend with a cash bar and have some community-centric sponsors like The Richmond Times Dispatch and the Flying Squirrels. If you play your cards right, you can meet Mayor Levar Stoney and the new President of the Richmond International Raceway, Lori Waran. They’ll be cruising about Richmond in the RIR Pace car.
According to Waran, there will be cameos of NASCAR drivers at the rooftop events along with prizes like sweet swag bags (everyone needs a Hamlin hoodie, right?). You can also expect live music or a fun DJ depending on what rooftop you decide to deign as your racing rooftop for the evening.
In a press release today, NASCAR also announced plans to bring back the community block party hosted by 23XI Racing driver Bubba Wallace — a “free-ticketed, family-friendly event will take place from 6-10 p.m. (Friday) March 31 at Virginia Credit Union Live located at Richmond Raceway.”
The release notes that “Bubba’s Block Party precedes three days of NASCAR racing action as Richmond Raceway hosts the Toyota Owners 400 Weekend featuring the NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour’s Virginia is for Racing Lovers 150 on Friday, March 31, the NASCAR Xfinity Series’ ToyotaCare 250 on Saturday, April 1, and the Toyota Owners 400 on Sunday, April 2.”
