It was a tragic story felt around the music world. Richmond’s Randy Blythe, lead singer for heavy metal heavyweight Lamb of God, was charged with manslaughter, accused of tossing a teenaged Prague fan offstage, who suffered traumatic head injury and died weeks later. From the beginning, Blythe maintained his innocence while remaining steadfast and principled about facing the charges and respecting the family of the deceased fan. After time in Czech Republic jail and paying $400,000 bail, Blythe could’ve stayed put in America and never returned to the country. But he felt a moral obligation to the family and wanted to clear his name, and so he returned in early February. Verdict? He was acquitted March 5 and all was right in metal land.
