Call it unbridled capitalism or a celebration of equal rights, or both. The Richmond Business Alliance, the city’s LGBTQ-friendly chamber of commerce, didn’t wait around for a final court ruling on same-sex marriage to get down to business. An event dubbed Victory, Vino and Vows had LGBTQ-friendly wedding vendors show off their wares at the Lewis Ginter Botanical Garden just two days after the federal 4th Circuit Court of Appeals heard arguments in Virginia’s same-sex marriage challenge. With an affirmative decision likely, couples can now fall into the same planning nightmares as everyone else.
