You may not have noticed, but there was no Slaughterama 8. No beer-fueled bicycle jousts. No young and crusty types invading cosmopolitan Richmond for a three-day celebration of bike culture and beer.
Word is the crowds got too bloated, too unruly. In seven years, attendance ballooned from a few dozen to a few thousand, and the Cutthroats, the local bike club that organized the event, made the decision to scale back. This makes us extremely sad.
But the party had to end at some point. So, we’ll pour one out for Slaughterama and hold out hope that it’s revived in one form or another. It’ll be a PBR, naturally.
