Sure, bands always invite audience participation, but an Israeli rock threesome demands audience participation about like Jim Jones did. Nobody's drinking Kool-Aid, but damned if you don't find yourself carrying the flailing, shirtless lead singer from one side of the room to another as he and his outfit wail away with acrobatic grace amid flaming drums. Which drum kit, by the way, you'll inevitably find yourself lifting into the air along with the drummer for the final songs of their set. At least, that's what they pulled last time they played Gallery5. It seems unlikely they'd change up such a successful formula. Plus they're playing with Richmond's own Hot Lava, an electro-pop group that may just match Monotonix in unpredictable energy, if not sweaty shirtlessness, as well as favorites Snack Truck and Amoeba Men. In short, this may just be the best show of the week. It's Wednesday, Oct. 15, at 7 p.m. $8. 644-0005.
