Mindfulness for GI Health

Savita Srivastava, M.D., is establishing an integrative gastroenterology practice especially for women in Richmond, and is working with Tina Shiver and JoAnn Bibb DeForge to incorporate functional medicine principles and skills of mindfulness to reduce stress in their lives to improve their GI health. Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction has been shown to benefit cardiac patients; Dr. Srivastava believes it can ameliorate many gastrointestinal symptoms as well.
