Fearless and feisty, Lyte didn't cater to male fantasies ("Paper Thin") or hesitate to keep another MC in check ("10% Dis"). Lyte, who's enjoyed a successful career as an actress and voice-over artist, joins other artists from hip-hop's golden era (Doug E. Fresh, KRS-1) at the second annual "80's Was the Greatest" concert at Brown's Island. E.U. and DJ Kool are also on the bill. The show starts Brown's Island Friday, July 18, at 6:30 p.m. $15-$40. 646-0546.
