Why are you running as an independent? I am a Libertarian and we need more people with that philosophy in government.
Why aren't you running as a Democrat or Republican?
I feel that neither major party represents my views. I agree with parts of the platforms of both, but there are aspects of both platforms that I strongly disagree with. Both major parties are the party of bigger government.
What are your signature policies and campaign issues? Many of the issues I am passionate about are out of the hands of local officials, but in general I am anti-tax (or at least pro-lower-tax.)
Which political party do you more closely identify with? Libertarian.
How do you differ most from them?
Libertarians are a very varied group with only one truly unifying principle - personal freedom with personal responsibility - and it is hard to find any two that are exactly alike in political thought. I am no exception.
What changes would bring you into the Democratic or Republican fold? If both parties stopped pushing for more government as the solution to all problems, it would be a start.
How did you arrive at your political convictions?
I have an independent streak and don't like being forced into doing anything against my will or prevented from doing something by bureaucratic fiat, and both major parties want to dictate what you can and can't do in areas that should be personal choices.
Are you running to win, or running to bring attention to certain issues? I am running to win.
Who is your political hero?
I don't tend to idolize politicians no matter how much I agree with their philosophy, but I believe the closest to a "hero" would be Thomas Jefferson.
Is it wrong to steal office supplies? In general, yes, but I can't say I haven't ever taken a pen or roll of tape home with me.
What kind of car do you drive? 2000 Chrysler Concorde with a VCDL bumper sticker.
