Southwest Virginia native Martha High spent 33 years on the road with the Godfather of Soul, James Brown, and has the stories to prove it. A key member of his band who was the longest running female vocalist, she was there at the famous gig at Boston Garden in 1968 during the immediate wake of the Martin Luther King Jr. assassination. She’ll be talking about her fascinating career, which has continued with Maceo Parker, and maybe singing a little too. 2 p.m. Free for members. $4.
