Public historian and author Elvatrice Belsches will conduct a multimedia journey that will take the audience into the extraordinary legacies of free blacks in Richmond and Petersburg from 1800-1865. Riveting narratives, rare photographs and documents will be used to chronicle their journeys and pathways to freedom. Belsches is the author of "Black America Series: Richmond, Virginia" from Arcadia Publishing.
