Even though being attracted to your own gender is as old as time, in some circles, homosexuality is a horrible moral abomination that requires the full force of imaginary friends to fight a fool’s war against the mandates of DNA. Silly, perhaps, but that’s the sad and beautiful world in which we live. To combat these still lingering but fast-dying perceptions, Art 180 is dedicating a public mural to the city’s LGBTQ youth with a celebratory unveiling of work organized by local artists Chris Milk and Julie Elkins on Wednesday at ROSMY at 2311 Westwood Ave. The unapologetic declaration of community will include a cookout and musical enhancements to go with artistic presentation starting at 6 p.m. Admission is free. rosmy.org.
