Why is it that gun advocates always use the comparison of a gun and a car as being equal in danger? Their logic with this comparison is to prove in some twisted way that it's not the car or the gun that kill people but rather people kill people. Cars are designed to transport you from point A to point B. A log could be used to build a fire or build a house (I guess you could knock someone in the head if you felt that primal). A gun is designed for one thing — to kill.
Mr. Spitzer's stated goal is to "open carry" to the point that no one notices him. I would argue that that's not true. He craves the attention — negative or not. Let's not forget recent history. The young men who used guns to kill dozens of innocents over the last two decades in this country all craved the same attention — even in death.
