Kennet Monique Anderson

Kennet, 12, is a member of Kings Righteous Children, a youth dance group which ministers to others through praise dance. “Dance helps me because I know when I dance I can minister to other people,” Kennet explained. Currently, her favorite praise song to dance to is “The Air I Breathe” by Hillsong.

Places that Kennet has performed her praise dance include the Richmond homeless shelter, and Stonewall Manor, an elderly home. Kennet's dance is clearly a selfless act performed in an effort to help brighten the days of others.

In addition to praise dance, she also enjoys modern, hip hop, and ballet. Kennet performed with the Concert Ballet of Virginia in the Nutcracker in 2008 and 2009.

Other ways that Kennet ministers to individuals in Richmond is through feeding the homeless at the Richmond Center. She specifically helped on Thanksgiving Day this past November.

At school, Kennet received the Gold Presidential Award for academic achievement last year from Chamberlayne Elementary. She also won the DARE award and the Presidential Fitness Award. Her honor roll status has been maintained since kindergarten and she was a SCA representative during the 2008-09 school year.

Kennet is a combination of both brains and beauty. In 2007, she was the 3rd runner up in Little Miss Black Virginia, and she was also the cover model for the MainStreet Dancewear catalogue for fall 2008.

Whether she is performing a praise dance for her local community, feeding the homeless, studying, or posing for a photo shoot, you know Kennet is always doing it with perfect poise.
