Songwriter Jenny Owen Youngs is disarmingly sweet and sweetly disarming. From her school-girl-crush features to her elegant alto croon, the young New Jersey native is a natural at luring you in. Add a knack for using unexpectedly lyrical acidity over a swath of orchestrated pop melodies — including folk, classical strings and jazz horns — the girl behind the successful single, “Fuck Was I,” is prime musical descendant of Liz Phair, Cat Power and Regina Spektor. The last actually recruited Youngs on her most recent tour. On tour supporting her sophomore effort, “Transmitter Failure,” Youngs performs at the Camel on Sunday, March 7, at 7 p.m. $8-$10.
