The Byrd Theatre’s annual holiday tradition continues with three showings of the Christmas classic “It’s A Wonderful Life.” The film stars James Stewart as George Bailey, a man at the end of his rope on Christmas Eve. Bailey’s attempt to jump off a bridge is halted by his guardian angel, Clarence, who shows him what the world would be like if he never existed, and points out all of the lives he’s touched in his community. The film is regarded as a staple of Christmas around the world and has been recognized as one of the best films ever made. All three shows will feature Bob Gulledge on the Mighty Wurlitzer organ performing plenty of holiday songs for singing along. “It’s a Wonderful Life” screens at the Byrd Theatre on Saturday, Dec. 24, at 7:15 p.m., and Sunday, Dec. 25, at 7:15 and 9:45 p.m. $1.99. byrdtheatre.com.
