Some teachers say the future of education is already in students' hands. Can smart phones bridge the digital divide? Our story took us to Monticello High School in Charlottesville, where freshman Kennedy Wilmer follows the day's lesson on an iPod Touch.
Photographer's note: I was surprised to see the level of attention the students paid to the teacher, and I was looking for an image that summed up their collective immersion. This image does that and mirrors how many teenagers in America spend their time.
