The Court End Christmas Family Activity Day gives you a chance to see several of Richmond's most interesting homes in one shot. From noon to 5 p.m. December 12, special trolleys will shuttle between the John Marshall House, the Valentine Richmond History Center/1812 Wickham House, the Museum and White House of the Confederacy, the Virginia State Capitol, St. John's Church and Historic Richmond Foundation's Monumental Church. The tours are free. Call (804) 649-0711.

Maymont will celebrate its 29th annual "Victorian Christmas at Maymont" Sunday, Dec. 5, with tours, carriage rides — and an authentic yule log, of course. The day is free, although certain activities may require a fee or reservations. If you miss the big event, Maymont will continue to model Victorian Christmas fun with tours highlighting traditions and decorations of the period. Tours run Tuesday to Sunday Dec. 3-31, noon to 4:30 p.m., closed Christmas and New Year's Day. The suggested donation is $4. Call 804.358.7166 for information.
