This tour will enable visitors to learn about the Civil War history at Dodd Park. Take a relaxing walk down to Ashton Creek Marsh and view some of the remaining fortifications constructed in 1864. View the remnants of an old causeway used by Union troops during the first battles of the Bermuda Hundred Campaign. Explore Historic Point of Rocks and learn about the location of a Union hospital and walk out to the bluff overlooking the Appomattox river. Bring bottled water and wear comfortable shoes.
