Death is a stranger to primary colors in "Knoxville Girl," a series of drawings by Virginia Commonwealth University grad and Philadelphia artist Rob Matthews. Inspired by a series of murders in Knoxville, these portraits of the murdered and murderers are graphite in black and white, aptly illustrating death's smudged pallor. In addition to "Knoxville Girl," the Anderson Gallery presents "More Than Just a Pretty Face," a collection of works by national and international artists curated by grad students at VCU, and "Fiona Ross: The Thread in the Labyrinth." All three shows are on display through Aug. 2. Call 828-1522 or visit www.vcu.edu/artweb/gallery.
