About the Hanover High School Jazz Program: The Hanover High School Jazz Program includes the Hanover High School Jazz Band and the Advanced Jazz Ensemble. Led by Amy Birdsong, these two groups are comprise about 50 talented high school musicians. The students in the jazz program learn about the fundamental aspects of jazz as well as more advanced techniques. Both the Jazz Band and the Jazz Ensemble perform at many venues around the area and statewide, including an annual performance in Virginia Beach.
