Last week, Veil Brewing released All Together, a 6.5% alcohol India pale ale hopped with Cascade, Citra, Mosaic and Simcoe.
The brewery has steadily been posting can-release announcements on its Instagram pre-pandemic, explaining the ingredient breakdown of its double IPAs, barley wine collabs and Czech-style Pilsners. The excitement is ramped up and preorders are made to be picked up in both Richmond and Norfolk.
But All Together is different.
This beer release is part of a worldwide beer collaboration created by New York’s Other Half Brewing to raise support for those in the hospitality industry, from brewers to busers. The recipe for All Together is available online, the artwork is public and the name is for everyone. Each business is able to choose which hospitality-related nonprofit or organization it wants a portion of its proceeds to benefit. Veil chose Richmond Restaurants United.
While Veil’s stock of All Together continues to sell out quickly — a good cause plus damn tasty beer will do that — you can support other participating Virginia breweries including Benchtop Brewery in Norfolk, which released April 24, and Random Row Brewing in Charlottesville, Williamsburg’s Virginia Beer Co. and Norfolk’s Bold Mariner Brewing Co., all of which release their versions May 1.
