Glass tends to be associated with more practical than artistic purposes. It's the material we use for visibility and bottling drinks, and for throwing action stars through to escape explosions and bullets. For decades, however, German-born sculptor Hans Godo Frabel has spent the better part of his working days molding this fragile material into something far more aesthetically pleasing than a windshield. Beginning April 1, Lewis Ginter Botanical Garden opens a special exhibition of Frabel's work, titled “Glorious Glass in the Garden.” Featuring more than 100 sculptures by the renowned artist, from the delicately realistic to the complexly abstract and geometric, these beautiful pieces are scheduled to remain on display through Jan. 10. $6-$10. 262-9887.
