What are the connections between art, nature, and community? This question guides Open Space Education’s 6-week pilot program, FUNCTIONAL CERAMICS: FROM PLANTING TO EATING, led by Open Space teaching artists, Angelique Scott + Shannon Leighty. Open Space is collaborating with Fonticello Food Forest, Girls For A Change, and Duron Chavis to offer girls ages 12-15 space to work in nature, work with clay, and talk about food. This program is FREE for participants thanks to generous grants from the Virginia Commission for the Arts, the National Endowment for the Arts, and the CultureWorks Grants Program.
