Richmond’s historic, riverfront commercial area is now a modern dining, shopping and night life district housed in historic, industrial buildings. This two-hour tour goes along Richmond’s canal which fueled the commerce and holds the story of pre-20th-century Richmond as well as the story of Richmond’s infamous slave trade. Meander through a neighborhood filled with tobacco warehouses turned into Civil War hospitals, interspersed with murals painted by artists from around the world. Highlights: Richmond’s beautiful river walk and canal, a center for the domestic slave trade in the United states and the oldest house in the city from 1737.
