In addition to the exhibition at the Anderson Gallery, Art 180 will host an exhibition at Artspace, June 2-July 2. This exhibition will feature photographs and poetry created by fifth-graders from Blackwell Elementary School and teen-agers from the Gilpin community. The younger group turned their cameras on their community, while the teen-agers worked on a photo essay called "Choices." Both groups completed this work through "Awareness Through the Arts," a program of Weed & Seed and Art 180 that is designed to encourage young people to make positive and healthy choices. In this program, community leaders talk to young people about issues such as personal identity, peer pressure and community, and ART 180 artists work with the youth to explore these ideas through art.

In addition to the photographs, the June 2 opening will feature performances by poets in an art 180 program.
