Vexine is all about attitude. It’s the unifying theme of the retro future-rock on the Richmond group’s new full-length release, “Little Sin.” From the bluesy swagger of “Hornet’s Nest” to the manic frenzy of “Only One Left,” the band Cool Hand Lukes its way through the album’s varying seductions. Front and center is vocalist Sarah Gleason, articulating the brooding menace of “I Want You” and the slinking tease of “Little Sin” with a soulful voice that’s equal parts Koko Taylor, Bonnie Raitt and P.J. Harvey. Tastefully recorded and performed, “Little Sin” is the group’s most satisfying effort to date. Vexine celebrates the release of its third album and the limited-edition specialty beer named after it Saturday, April 30, at Center of the Universe Brewing Co. Show time is between the hospitable hours of 4-7 p.m. Free. cotubrewing.com.
