Sept. 22

Musically speaking, Profligate — the solo project of Philadelphia musician Noah Anthony — isn’t recklessly extravagant or wasteful in the use of resources. The minimalist libertine makes an intoxicating brand of post-Kraftwerk electronica. On his newest release, “Abbreviated Regime: Vol. 1,” Anthony takes a measured approach in his popped industrializations. Municipal manipulations such as the taut astringency of “Jet Black (King of the World)” and the machine breathes of “Dust” provide a thousand-yard stare tonal abeyance. Coldly stoic and colored with basal intentions, Profligate brings its mechanical ablutions to the Sediment Gallery on Thursday, Sept. 22. Capital city electronic warriors Claire and Aspidistra open. Doors open at 9 p.m. Suggested admission is $5-$10. sedimentarts.org.
